Delores Maybeth Feldt, 100, a life long resident of St. Ansgar, Iowa, passed peacefully away on July 30, 2023 at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Delores Thorson Feldt was born October 5, 1922, the oldest of three daughters to E. Clifford and Marie (Mehus) Thorson. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar where she was a life-long member. She graduated from Carpenter High School in 1940 and continued her education at Hamilton Business College graduating in 1942.

On November 15, 1942 she was united in marriage to Wilmer (Barney) Feldt at First Lutheran Church. After almost 50 years of marriage Barney preceded her in death on April 9, 1992. She was a dedicated mother of four and spent her years as a homemaker while also working as a stenographer and secretary at the REC (Rural Electric Cooperative) retiring in November 1982.

Delores was a 4-H member in the 1930's and later served as a 4-H leader for 13 years. President of her church circle, Sunday School teacher, was active in the election voting polls, delivered Meals on Wheels until she was 90 years old, and volunteered at the Good Samaritan Center helping the residents play Bingo until she was 96 years old. She also enjoyed playing cards and was in several card clubs over the years.

Delores loved going to music and sporting events of her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews. She and Barney traveled to 49 states and enjoyed many fishing trips with family and friends. Delores was an excellent cook, baker and seamstress, sewing a quilt for each of her kids and grandkids.

She was a three-time cancer survivor and will be remembered for always being a friend to all. Delores enjoyed others and truly was an inspiration to be around placing her faith in God and family as the most important aspects of her life. She was greatly loved by all and will be greatly missed. Fortunately, Delores's family was able to celebrate her 100th birthday with her last Fall which was a blessing to us all.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Darwin, son-in-law Vernon Jurgemeyer, and two sisters, Arlene (Kroneman-Tesch) and Anita Rustad.
