Funeral services were held Monday, January 7, 1991 at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, North Dakota, for James Russell Myers, 39, of Velva, N. D. Mr. Myers died Thursday, January 3, 1991 in an auto accident near Logan, N. D.

He was born Nov. 9, 1951 in Osage to Boyd and Virginia Myers. At age 6 he moved to Swaledale and graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School. He graduated from Ellsworth Community College, Iowa Falls, with a degree in animal science.

On Aug. 13, 1983 he married Jane Pepple in Bismarck, N.D. He was employed by Sioux City Stockyards and later by Central Orders Buyers there. He moved to North Dakota and was employed by various cattle order buyers and livestock firms in the Minot area. At the time of his death, he owned Myers Cattle Co. in Velva and had a cattle order business there. He also operated a small cattle feeding and stock cow operation in Velva and lived northeast of Velva.

He was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, N.D., North Dakota Stockmen’s Association and Roughrider Rodeo Association of North Dakota.

Survivors include his wife: daughters, Joey and Jesse both at home, his mother of Rockwell, brothers, Jerry of Garner, and Don of Swaledale, sisters, Sherry Eddy of Clear Lake, Sue Reimers of Osage, Dorothy “Dot” Falasco of Colorado Springs, CO, Deb Laudner of Rockwell, and Wendy Bonner of Swaledale.
