CARPENTER, IOWA – Jane Gordon, 92, died Monday, July 30, 2018 in Osage, Iowa.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Deer Creek Lutheran Church near Carpenter, IA with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be at Deer Creek Cemetery.

Beverly Jane Gordon, 92, of Carpenter, Iowa died on July 30, 2018 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church near Carpenter with Rev Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be at the Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 1 from 4 – 6:00 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

Beverly Jane Gordon was born on April 16, 1926 in Iowa City. At 15 months she became the adopted daughter of John and Elnora (Olthoff) Furst of Lakota, Iowa.

Beverly was baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakota. She spent a happy childhood on the farm as an only child, but had many neighborhood friends.

Beverly was a graduate of Ledyard Consolidated School and received a rural teaching certificate from Iowa State Teacher College at Cedar Falls in June of 1944. She taught school for several years near home.

In 1945, Beverly married Arlowe Blome of Ledyard and they had one son, Jeffery. They were later divorced. On February 19, 1950, Beverly was united in marriage to Clarence Lynn Gordon at Mason City. She became a member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church near Carpenter. Beverly and Lynn became the parents of three daughters.

In 1966, Beverly became employed by the Carpenter Savings Bank and worked there for 34 years. She was an active member of her church and the community. Hobbies included dancing, bowling, cards, gardening, and spending time with the grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lynn, and her granddaughter Dana Quebe.

Beverly is survived by her son Jeffrey (Marvella) Blome of Thompson; her daughters: Linda (Kevin) Herberg of Redwood Falls, MN, Julie Quebe of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jill (David) Smith of Maricopa,AZ; seven grandchildren: Marnie (Shawn) Maki, Tiffany (Nick) Olson, Ryan Blome, Keely (Seth) Heitland, Stephen (Rachael) Hollatz, Bethany Hollatz, Jerek Strouf; and great-grandchildren: Jericho, Chloe and Sula Faye Strouf, Aubrey and Ethan Olson, Elenore Haitland, Evelynn and Isaac Hollatz, Gavin and Caitlin Maki.
