Wilma Jean (Foxen) Onken, age 79, of Osage, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Haven, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:45 p.m.

Jean was born April 8, 1938, at Osage, Iowa, the daughter of Agnes (Spoden) and Matthew Foxen, Sr. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New Haven. On June 13, 1998, Jean married Jim Onken at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. She worked for many years as a cook in the Osage Schools. Jean was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Osage American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, canning, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Betty (Lennis) Krones of Mason City; grandchildren, Magen Krones of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and William Krones of Mason City; several step-children, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Aringdale of Prescott, Arizona, and Norma “Jeannie” (Dave) Crandall of Ionia; brothers, Ed Foxen, Joe (Carole) Foxen and Jerome (Bev) Foxen, all of Charles City; sisters-in-law, Dolores Foxen and Phyllis Foxen, both of Charles City, and Donna Onken of Omaha, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Onken in 2013; sister, Mary Ann Richards; brother, Matthew Foxen, Jr.; nephews, Jim Richards and Chad Foxen; niece, Sara Quigley; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
