The community was shocked yesterday morning to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Ferd Goettle, it not being known that she was sick. Death came at ten o’clock Tuesday night, caused by spinal meningitis, a disease which has troubled her for some twelve years. Her sickness dates from last Sunday. The funeral services will be held in the Baptist church at 3 o’clock this afternoon, and interment will be made in the Wayne cemetery.—Mclntire Gazette.

Transcriber’s Note: Wayne Cemetery records indicate this was Emma Augusta Zehrendt Goettel. She was born in 1857 and died Nov. 28, 1899.
