Phil Goyer.

Phil Goyer, a well known veteran of Glenwood, died late Wednesday night. At the time of his death he was at Mrs. Jane Tipton’s. He has been sick for some time with erysipelas and this has finally caused his death.

He was 84 years of age and was a veteran soldier in the Civil War.

Mr. Goyer’s first wife was a daughter of Jesse Miller, who once owned what is now the County Poor Farm, and who was the father of Joe Miller of Center township. One daughter was born to them, and she is now in the state of Washington.

His present wife is now in California and she is expected home for the burial of Mr. Goyer. She will be remembered as a sister of Dan Muffley. They have two sons and one daughter, who are also in California.

It has not been decided when the funeral services will be held, as they await word from the west.
