W. C. Franklin

W. C. Franklin, an old soldier and a new comer to these parts, died last night at 9:30 of heart trouble at his home on the Charles Record place north of Glenwood. The family came to Glenwood two months ago from Colorado where they had resided a few months, previous to which time their home had been near Creston.

The deceased is survived by a wife and five children. The widow is a sister of George Ostrander. Mr. Franklin served three years in the civil war as a member of the 22d Iowa. The time of the funeral has not been announced.

Later—The funeral will be held from the home at 2 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, burial at West Liberty.
