SERVICES WERE HELD FRIDAY FOR WILMA BREEDING
Death took a member of one of Mills County's pioneer families last week when Mrs. Wilma Breeding died December 13. Services were held Thursday afternoon at Mansfield Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Hugh Shivelcy.
The daughter of Swain and Kathryn Alberts, she was born in the old Alberts farm home, now the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Evans, December 2, 1884. She attended the rural school of the district and in 1902 was married to Guy Breeding. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Malvern.
They established their home on the farm which was just across the road north of her parent's place and continued to make this their home until his death in 1939.
They were the parents of five children: Harold of Hendersonville, North Carolina; Ilene Conyers of Fullerton, California; Ben of Malvern; Gerald of La Habra, California; and Mildred Auth, Willamette, Illinois, all of whom survive.
Mrs. Breeding made her home with her daughters for several years following her husband's death, until this fall when she moved in Glen Haven retirement home in Glenwood.
Serving as pall bearers at the services were Maurice and Lawrence Alberts, Max Vinton, George Mart, Wilbert Bond, and Robert Malcom. Flowers were cared for by Marjorie Alberts, Carolyn Benton, Catherine Miller, Charlotte Mort, and Fern Alberts.
Music for the services were furnished by Richard Coy who was accompanied by Mrs. William Blackburn, organist. Burial was in the Malvern Cemetery.
