DEATHS. Mrs. A.S. Edwards. Following is the obituary of Mrs. A.S. Edwards, who died at her home in Glenwood Saturday evening.

Mrs. Edwards, nee Katie May Painter, was born in Glenwood January 18, 1873. Her father was a pioneer of this place, coming here in 1856. All her life she lived here, attending the Glenwood schools and naturally cultivating a wide circle of friends in this vicinity.

She was married to A.S. Edwards August 20, 1893. Her husband and one daughter, Miss Grace J. Edwards, survive her. Other surviving relatives are her mother Mrs. Mary Painter of Omaha; a sister, Mrs. Lottie Bowman of Omaha; two brothers, W.H. of Yelton, Okla., and S.A. of Hastings, Neb. All were present at the funeral. A brother and two sisters-in-law of Mr. Edwards, I.N. Edwards of La Kemp, Okla., Mrs. Lulu Edwards and daughter of Forest City, Mo, and Mrs. J.W. Edwards of McCook, Neb., were also here.

Mrs. Edwards was a prominent and popular member of the Degree of Honor and of the Rebakahs and was continually working for the upbuilding of these commendable organizations. She was a member of the Christian church at Glenwood and during her health was active in church work.

Her long illness necessitated her confinement for such a length of time that she was unable to participate in the activities of the church or lodge organizations for many weeks before her death.

Rev. Graves had charge of the funeral services. The body was laid at rest in the Glenwood cemetery Tuesday afternoon, a throng of bereaved friends and relatives being present to pay their last tribute to her memory. Her death is keenly felt by may friends, who extend their sympathies to the sorrowing husband and daughter and other relatives.
