Family notes say that William Pike died in Marshall County, Iowa in 1876 and that his wife, Rachael Ann Davis Pike, died in Marshall County, Iowa in 1878. There doesn't seem to be any record of their deaths or burials. They were Quakers and were last known to be in Grant County, Indiana in 1873. It is unknown when or why they moved to Iowa. The only sources that can seem to support these death dates are 1) all their children (John, Nathaniel, Davis, Sarah, Rebecca, Allison, Benjamin "Frank", and William were scattered in the 1880 census living with family and neighbors, as farm help, or house help in various homes throughout Marshall County; and 2) an 1879 guardianship record showing Jonathan Jones (William Pike's brother-in-law) accepting guardianship of 3 of the youngest children (Sarah, Benjamin, and Allison). I am trying to find more information about William and Rachael Pike's deaths and/or burials. It is family lore that they were buried in the same plot as their youngest son, William A. Pike (he was buried in 1937), in the Albion cemetery. I appreciate any help in locating more information. Thank you.
