My Great Grandmother (Frey) from Minot, North Dakota was an orchestra leader and had at least two of Elmers violins. Her daughter, Violet Able who is now 96 years old inherited the violins and loved and played them. One was stolen from her car many years ago. We have the other. I just purchased another one of Elmers violins on ebay. It is #113 and is a lovely one-piece back and in wonderful condition for its age. I will always wonder if it was the one stolen from her car many years ago. I am going to have it set-up to play tomorrow.
