Redding, Hezekiah – 1851-1929

Harvey, Sept. 18 – Hezekiah Redding was born July 14, 1851, in Ross county, O., and passed away Sept. 9, 1929, at the Williams hospital in Oskaloosa. The deceased came with his parents to Iowa in 1871 and settled near Harvey. In 1872 he was married to Almira Bayless. To this union were born six children. The mother and four children preceded him in death a number of years ago. In the year 1882, he was again married to Mrs. Clara Lancaster, who died June 1, 1924.
He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lillie O. Webb of Harvey and Clara B. Wheeler of Colfax and five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters and a large number of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. He spent the last few years with his daughter, Mrs. L. O. Webb, in Harvey. Mr. Redding’s death resulted from a serious surgical operation for the relief of bladder trouble. He was a member of the Baptist church. His age was 78 years, 2 months and 4 days.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. McAninch at the M.E. church. Interment at Eureka cemetery.

The deceased came with his parents to Iowa in 1871, and was united in marriage with Miss Almira Bayless. To this union six children were born. The mother and four children preceded him in death several years ago, leaving two daughters, Mrs. Clara B. Wheeler, of Colfax, and Mrs. Lillie O. Webb, of Harvey; with the latter he made his home the past several years.
Mr. Redding was then united in marriage to Mrs. Clara Lancaster, who passed away June 1, 1924. He leaves 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and a great number of other relatives and friends to mourn his loss. He was 78 years, 2 months and 4 days of age.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. McAninch at the M.E. church, of Harvey; interment at the Eureka cemetery.
