Lautenbach, Robert Charles - 1898-1953

Robert C. Lautenbach, son of Charles Lautenbach and Catherine Ulrich, was born in Pella, February 18, 1898.
The deceased was educated in the Pella public schools and then continued his education at Iowa State College, Ames, graduating with the degree of architectural Engineer in 1925. He married Martha Gosselink, of Pella, September 1, 1926. The first years of their married life were spent in New York City where he was associated with the Rolscreen Company of Pella. They returned to Pella where they have made their home since, while he continued part time work with the Midwest Stamping company of Kellogg.
Bob, as he was best known to a multitude of friends, was a member of the Second Reformed church and of the consistory. He had served for a number of years as a member of the school board where his knowledge of architecture was of great value.
Surviving are Mrs. Lautenbach, his father, Charles Lautenbach, of Pella, two brothers, Casper, of Pella, and Lee, of Des Moines, and one sister, Mrs. Art Bruinekool, of Pella.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 19 at 10:00 a.m. from the Second Reformed church with Rev. E. H. Tunis in charge. President Gerrit vander Lugt of Central College assisted. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. – Pella Chronicle.
