Funeral services for Roy Kenneth Redding, 71, of Logan, formerly of the Bussey area, who died July 20 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held July 23, 1997 at the Bussey United Methodist Church, with Rev. Raymond Doser officiating. Burial was at Bellefountaine Cemetery near Tracy.
Roy was born March 28, 1926 in Dexter, the son of Glen and Ruth Bookout Redding. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a retired road construction foreman for Western Engineering. He was also a volunteer fireman, and a member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Keith.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalie Arkema Redding of Logan; a son, Paul of Boone; three daughters, Leslie VanderLinden of Knoxville, Diane Buffum of Council Bluffs, and Pam Reszel of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Harold of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Lois Downard of Des Moines, and Ann Snowbarger of Queen City, Mo.; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Gilbert-Nordstrom Funeral Home in Albia.
