ROSE HILL - Dick Hardeman, 72, of Rose Hill, died Wednesday, January 30, 1991, at Mahaska County Hospital. He was born July 29, 1918, in Mahaska County, the son of Barend and Aaltje Donkelaar Hardeman.
He was a farmer and member of the Central Reformed Church where he had served as a deacon and elder. He married Josephine DeGroot on March 4, 1948 in Rose Hill.
He is survived by his wife of Rose Hill; one son, Rick of New London; five daughters, Judi (Mrs. Dean) Braaksma, Mary (Mrs. Kent) Ostrem, Carol (Mrs. Jim) Harvey, Kathy (Mrs. Lowell) Engelhoven, all of Oskaloosa; and Kris Hardeman of Eugene, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; and one brother, Barney of Rose Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Garrett.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., preceded by a family prayer service at 9:45 a.m. at the Central Reformed Church with Rev. Roger Huitink officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery. Family visitation will be Friday, 7-8 p.m. at the Powers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mahaska County. (Oskaloosa Herald, n.d.)
