Miss Mildred Cross, daughter of Mrs. Ben Ricks of this city, was instantly killed when a car in which she was riding overturned east of Grinnell. Vincent England of Oskaloosa was seriously injured and Carl Gustafson, of Marshalltown owner and driver of the car, was less severely hurt. Miss Cross was a graduate of the Mahaska hospital nursing school and was doing private duty here (source unknown; likely Oskaloosa Herald and 1938 written in ink)
