Died:- March 11 1899, Mrs. Howard C. Shane, at the family home, 2032 Lexington street, Chicago, aged 45 years, 9 months and 15 days.

Mary Dunlap was born in Eddyville, June 26, 1853. She resided here until 1875, at which time she was united in marriage to Howard C. Shane. One child was born to this union, Ila, who is now 20 years of age. For a short time after their marriage they resided here and then removed to Steamboat Rock. In 1882 they went to Chicago where they have since resided.

Her mother, Mrs. Emily Baldwin, of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Simmons, of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. McMurray of Marshalltown and a half brother, E.M. Fausnaugh of this place, survive her.
