DISTINGUISHED SERVICE CROSS
Kenneth Watts (army serial No. 2857069), private, Company B, 360th Infantry, 90th Division. For extraordinary heroism in action at Andevanne, France, November 2, 1918. Sent with another runner from battalion headquarters to deliver a message to a front line company, he made his way through the enemy fire, and when his comrade was wounded, delivered the message, then he rescued his wounded companion, carrying him under heavy fire to a dressing station. He then returned to duty.

Residence at enlistment: Barnes City, Iowa
