OBITUARY – NETTIE GLASS

Nettie Glass was born Oct. 14, 1889, in Madison County near Truro. Her parents were Henry and Mettie Cobbs Abegg. She died June 6, 1981, at Des Moines General Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 91.

On March 16, 1910, she was united in marriage to Neal Glass and to this union four children, Merrill, Mary, Marvin and Maxine, were born.

She moved to a farm southeast of Brown’s Chapel in 1941 and resided there until her death.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Neal, who died in 1961, her parents and six brothers and two sisters.

Surviving her are two sons, Merrill and Marvin, both of Indianola; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Brokaw, of Norwalk, Calif., Mrs. Maxine Lundquist, of Thayer; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters, Merne Abegg and Mrs. Ella Stahl, both of Des Moines, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services, conducted by John W. Long, were held June 8 at the Overton Funeral Home. Interment was at the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
