Larry Utsler, 86, of Winterset, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines.

Larry Howard Utsler, was born in Winterset, Iowa on March 17, 1938, the son of Joe and Anne (Howard) Utsler. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1956 and proudly served in the United States Army. On November 27, 1963, he married Michelle “Micki” Jo Weldon. The family expanded over the years to include three wonderful children: Steve, Stephanie, and Corey.

Larry was a man of entrepreneurial spirit and drive, establishing himself as a successful business owner for over six decades. He owned and operated Anchored Walls and C & L Construction and remained a proud supporter of many Winterset and Madison County organizations. Larry's journey in life was marked by dedication, love, and service to his family, his country, and his community.

Beyond his professional endeavors, he was an avid golfer and was an active member of the Lakeview Country Club for many years. He especially enjoyed time with family and friends and working at the farm.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Micki; parents, Joe and Anne; his daughter, Stephanie; and a brother, Russ.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Steve (Angie) Utsler and their children, Max and Jack; Stephanie’s children, Madison, Cade, and Cael; and his son, Corey (Valerie) Utsler and their children, Zachary and Megan. He is also survived by siblings, Donna Deatsch and Rex (Karen) Utsler.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. A private burial will be held in the Winterset Cemetery at a later date.  Memorials may be made to the family for a foundation to be established in Larry and Micki's name benefiting the Winterset community they loved.
