Virginia was born on June 1, 1947 to Ronald and Lois (Smith) Stuart in Madison County, Iowa. She attended Winterset High School and graduated with the class of 1965. Virginia held many jobs over the years such as a bookkeeper, city clerk, bridge construction, camp cook, 4-H leader, waitress, Cub Scout leader, mail carrier, tax preparer, Sunday school teacher, homemaker, farmer and gardener. She loved her time working as a cook in the mountains and on the Mississippi river barge. Virginia did whatever she needed to do to support her family.

Virginia was a member of the First Christian Church in Winterset. She worked with the Christian Women’s Fellowship, was a 37 year sober member of AA, and was also a Den Mother. She loved to travel and accomplished visiting six of the seven world continents. She was only footsteps away from visiting her seventh continent of Antarctica, but decided to stay on the boat. She enjoyed farming with her father, going canoeing, gardening and spending time thrift shopping. Virginia was also a collector of doll houses and still played with dolls in her older age with her grandkids as they always kept her young at heart.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Jim Hill; children, Marie (Brad) Deaton, Bev (Jeff) Jenks, Dawn (Chad) Wood, Jay (Kathy) Hill, Matt (Natalie) Hill, and Avalon (Dave) Haberkorn; brother, Ralph (Jill) Stuart; 9 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son Rollie R. Robbins; and previous husbands, William Robbins, and Lewis Haines.
