David Leroy Campbell, 74, of Apache Junction, Ariz., died of lung cancer Friday at home. The body will be cremated and private graveside memorial services will be held Tuesday at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa, Ariz.

Mr. Campbell was born in Madison County and had lived in West Des Moines many years, moving to Arizona five years ago. He was a plumber, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; four sons, Michael of Des Moines, Clifford of West Des Moines, Carl of Missouri and Gary of California; two daughters, Barbara Six and Cheryl Burgess, both of Colorado; three sisters, Melba Rhiner and Wilma Fritz, both of West Des Moines, and Ruby Garner of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
