Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home

Jeremy Brian Jacobs was born in Burlington, Vermont on November 17, 1977. He was born 45 minutes after his twin brother, Michael to Karen and Ronald Jacobs. At a very young age, the family moved to Aurora, Colorado where he became a big brother to Kathryn, Josef, Kelly, John, and Elizabeth. He moved to Moscow, Idaho where he loved to hunt and fish. After a few years, he moved back to Colorado. In 2015, he then moved to Winterset, Iowa with his sister, Kelly.

Jeremy graduated with a degree in criminal justice and had worked for IES (Facebook) and was also a diesel mechanic. He had a deep passion for rock music, old hair bands, and racing. His passion led to the dream of building a race car and to race. He would take his nieces to the race track all the time. He had gone as far as purchasing a chassis and engines but never got to hit the track.

Along with his passion for music, he also had talent on the drums and would buy instruments and have his nieces and nephew come to his house to have jam sessions. He never had children of his own so he spoiled his nieces and nephews.

He was a Catholic parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset and enjoyed being there for his family and being a part of the Knights of Columbus.

Jeremy loved watching Syfy movies and talking about conspiracy theories. His favorite Syfy was Doctor Who. Christmas with Jeremy was not watching football or Christmas movies but watching the Doctor Who marathon.

Jeremy always had some story to tell to make you laugh. Everyone talks about how his laugh was the best thing. He was always building you up and if you did something that wasn’t right, he would tell you.

Jeremy passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at the age of 43.

He leaves behind Karen Jacobs (mother), Ronald Jacobs (father), Jacey Bigness (sister), Rona Moore (sister), Michael Jacobs (twin brother), Kathryn Fontain (sister), Josef Jacobs (brother), Kelly Nelson (sister), John Jacobs (brother), Elizabeth Jacobs (sister), Michael Jacobs Jr (nephew), Kayce Jacobs (niece), Veronica Wood (niece), Nicholas Fontain (nephew), Haley Fontain (niece), Luna Nelson (niece), Gabby Nelson (niece), Sarah Nelson (niece), Evelyn Nelson (niece), Matthew Nelson (nephew), Eric Fontain (brother-in-law), Brendon Nelson (brother-in-law).
