Lyle Carl Mains
Tyler, Texas

Lyle Carl Mains went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Jan. 14, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. He was born Aug. 2, 1950, the son of Arlene (Hagar) and Leonard Mains in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up in Winterset, graduating with the class of 1969.

He enjoyed ham radios, talking over coffee and reminiscing about the good old days in Winterset with classmates and friends on Facebook. He always thought of Winterset as home even after moving to Tyler, Texas, more than 15 years ago.

Lyle would say, "It's not good-bye. It's see you later."

He is survived by his sister, Linda (Jim) Tutt of Indianola; niece, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorials can be sent to the Winterset Community Education Foundation (P.O. Box 30, Winterset, IA 50273) or to your local animal shelter. A private service will be held at a later date.

Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents, Bessie (Messinger Crawley) and Jessie Mains and Flossie (Ray) and Daniel Hager.
