Gertrude Quarton Dies Here at 28

Mrs. Gertrude Smith Quarton, 28, of 1241 Twelfth st., died Monday in Mercy hospital after a long illness.

A former Oskaloosa resident, she had lived in Des Moines several months.

Surviving are he husband, Darwin; three sons, John Patrick, David Timothy and Richard Joel; her father, William C. Smith, sr., Des Moines; her mother, Mrs. Esther M. Allgood, Des Moines; one brother, William C. Smith, Mason City; and two sisters, Ms. Michael Gasperi, Mason City, and Marilyn Allgood, Des Moines.

Services will be at 10 a. m. Thursday in St. Mary’s church, Oskaloosa. Burial will be at Forest cemetery there.
