Sally Fern Rudolf, 86, was born September 7, 1913 to Charles and Lula (Slight) Murphy and died October 3, 1999 at the Guthrie County Hospital.

Born in Adair County, she attended county school in Madison County through the 8th grade.

She was united in marriage to John Weibenga, September 18, 1932 and from this union two children were born, Jim and Karen. Sally then married Jim Rudolf March 14, 1947.

She owned and operated Sally’s Café in Menlo from 1967-1974. Special memories included helping her mother in Dexter, where she had the opportunity to serve Bonnie and Clyde.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, John Weibenga and Jim Rudolf and daughter Karen Weibenga.

Survivors include her son, Jim Weibenga of Jefferson, brothers: Rex Murphy, Menlo and Boyd Murphy of Des Moines; her sisters: Mildred Sherwood and Dorris McMichael both of the Denver area, three grandsons and two great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, 8 step-great grandchildren, 7 step-great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a long time friend Victor Christensen and family.

Services were at the Link Funeral Home, October 7, 1999. Rev. Dean Porter officiated and sang “In The Garden” with Lyle Peasely as organist. Interment was in the Winterset Cemetery, Winterset, IA.
