WILDA MCMANUS

Wilda F. McManus, 97, of Bishop Drumm Care Center, died Saturday, October 18 of a stroke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Monday morning at 10 a.m., at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery.

Mrs. McManus was born in Winterset and was a longtime resident of Des Moines. She graduated from the Mercy School of Nursing in 1928 and retired from nursing at Mercy Hospital in 1973. She and her husband T. M. (Red) were active members of St. Ambrose Cathedral and St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Red, son Tommy, ten sisters and one brother. She is survived by her son, Patrick (Virgene) of Windsor Heights; a daughter, Mary Jo (Dennis) Lippold of Des Moines, five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 on Sunday at Caldwell-Radditz Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7pm. Memorials can be made to Mercy College, Bishop Drumm Care Center or Mercy Hospice.
