Sarah Catherine McClure, daughter of G. W. and Sarah McClure, was born in Fayette county, Indiana on March 7, 1873 and passed away at the home of her sister in Akeley, Minn., on April 6, 1939 at the age of 66 years and 30 days.

At the age of 8 she came with her parents to Clarke county, Iowa. In 1911, at the death of her parents, she moved to Madison county for a period of 6 years, 4 of that period being spent in Truro. In July of 1917 she went to Akeley, Minn., where she lived till God called her home.

Some years ago she united with the Methodist church. But while she was in Akeley she attended the Baptist church and remained as long as her health permitted, a willing worker in the church.

She leaves to mourn her passing, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, Mrs. Julia E. Bacon of Murray, Iowa, Mrs. Mary M. Richey of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. R. D. Archer of Akeley, Minn., A. R. McClure of Loveland, Colo., G. W. McClure of Osceola, Iowa, and C. M. McClure of New Virginia, Iowa. Also, she leaves several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends which her pleasant disposition made in each community where she lived.

Because of physical disability her eldest brother, A. R. McClure was unable to be present.

Funeral services were conducted in Union Church in Clarke county by the Rev. Thomas Kelly of New Virginia. She was laid to rest Easter Sunday afternoon in Union cemetery by the side of her parents.
