Funeral services were held for Mrs. Milt Loy Tuesday, April 14, at the Methodist church with Rev. M. D. Cox, officiating, in the place of Rev. Edgar Thompson of Lorimor, who was unable to be present because of illness. Burial was made in the Murray cemetery under the direction of the Watts Mortuary.

Lulu Maude Ives, daughter of Isaiah and Rebecca Ives, was born November 9, 1867, at Pella, Iowa, and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mildred Means of Murray, Iowa, April 12, 1936, at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 3 days.

In 1885 she was united in marriage to C. M. Loy, moving directly to Madison county where they lived nine years, then moved near Lorimor where she lived until the time of her death. To this union ten children were born, Claude E. of Lorimor; Carl A., of Murray; Mrs. Maude Tuttle, Adel; Mrs. Grace Yount, of Thayer; Mrs. Blanch Johnston, of Thayer; Mrs. Bessie Frank, of Truro; Glen M., of Spring Hill, Kansas; Guy M., of Lorimor; Mrs. Mildred Means, of Murray and Ted H. of Thayer.

When a girl she united with the M. E. church, serving as a teacher in the Sunday school. Later she transferred her membership by letter to the West Union church where she was a member at the time of her death.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, being greatly loved by all. Her acts of devoted services were not confined to her own family, but went out to neighbors and friends. When she learned of the illness of Mrs. Claude Loy, although not physically able she wanted to go at once to take over the responsibilities of their home, until such a time as the daughter-in-law would again be able to assume those responsibilities.

She leaves to mourn her passing, besides the immediate family, twenty-two grandchildren, three great grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Elizabeth Lawrence, of Des Moines; Mrs. Ida Haines, of Ollie, Iowa; Mrs. Emma Bump, of Whitman, Nebr.; Mrs. Bessie Alee, of Searsboro, Iowa; Will Ives, of Newton; Edward of Ottumwa, and Oren of Creston; also many other relatives and friends.

It is quite remarkable to note that this is the first break that has come in her family, her husband, all her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren are yet living.
