Lucindia Ellen Bishop was born in Madison county, December 18, 1852, and died at her home in Norwalk, Ia., December 28, 1908, aged 56 years and 10 days. When but a small child she was baptized with Christ and has been a faithful follower to the end. At the present time she was a member of the Church of Christ in Norwalk.

She was united in marriage to H. M. Utsler November 21, 1872. To this union nine children were born, eight of whom are living. She leaves eight children, three daughters and five sons, two brothers and eight grandchildren, besides her husband, to mourn her loss, James W. Utsler of Amber, Oklahoma, Charles W. of Winterset, Iowa, George W. of DeSoto, Iowa, Frank and Mrs. Lizzie Shafer of Indianola, Iowa, Mrs. Dollie Lang, Leslie and Bessie Utsler who are living at home, Will Bishop of Webb, Iowa, and Geo. Bishop of Lauranes, Iowa, all of whom were present at the funeral but one son, James, and her brother, Will Bishop.

The funeral services were held at the Church of Christ on Wednesday at 2 p.m., Rev. Stevenson preaching the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in the Norwalk cemetery.

Mrs. Utsler was a member of the Royal Neighbors. She has been a patient sufferer for a year but she bore it all with patience and with the spirit of a Christian.
