Max Doyle Armstrong
Max Doyle Armstrong, son of Clyde and Chleo Armstrong, was born near St. Charles, Iowa, Nov. 16, 1931, and passed away in Rochester, Minn., April 11, 1955, aged 23 years, 4 months and 25 days. He grew to manhood on a farm in the Broadhorn neighborhood and attended the Truro school graduating with the class of 1950.
After graduation he went to Des Moines and was employed as assistant secretary of the Des Moines Savings and Loan. Max was a good clean boy and was love by all his associates.
After moving to Des Moines he attended the Plymouth Congregational church and had planned to unite with the church but was taken ill and entered the Methodist hospital March 18, later going to Rochester, Minn., where he entered the hospital there but it was of no avail and he passed to the Great Beyond.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his father and mother; two sisters, Mrs. Leota Tuttle of Corydon and Betty Lou of Des Moines; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Bumbarger, Mrs. Nora Armstrong, and great-grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Black, and fiancée, Marcheta McCrea; one niece and two nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Services were held from the Truro Christian church, Thursday, April 14 with burial at the St. Charles cemetery.

Max Armstrong, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Armstrong passed away at the hospital in Rochester, Minn, Monday morning following a few weeks illness. Max was a graduate of the Truro high school in the class of 1950.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church Thursday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev. Warren Hile of Osceola, assisted by Rev. Walter Schilling. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.
