Clyde Armstrong, 57, passed away at his farm home southeast of Truro Wednesday morning. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Friday afternoon.

Clyde Leland Armstrong
Clyde Leland Armstrong, son of Albert and Nora Armstrong, was born August 25, 1901 in Warren county, Iowa, and departed this life January 28, 1959, at his home near Truro, Iowa. He was 57 years, 5 months and 3 days of age.
Mr. Armstrong spent his entire life farming in the St. Charles and Truro communities.
He was united in marriage to Chleo Bumbarger January 20, 1926 at Osceola, Iowa. To this union five children were born. Two died in infancy. His son, Max preceded him in death in the year 1955. His two surviving daughters are Leota and Betty Lou, married to Wendell Tuttle of Corydon, and William Walker of Davenport, respectively.
Shortly before his death, Mr. Armstrong accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized thus becoming a member of that great body of believers known as children of God and joint heirs with Christ.
Surviving are his wife, his daughters and their husbands; five grandchildren, Phillip, Peggy, Kenneth, Max and Barbara Tuttle; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Sayles of New Virginia; two brothers, Boyd and Jesse, both of St. Charles; a nephew, Claude Faust, and many other relatives and a host of friends. His parents and one sister preceded him in death. Clyde was a loving father and husband and will be sadly missed by those toward whom his love was directed.
Funeral services were held from the Christian Church in Truro, Saturday, Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dale Lockhart of Truro officiating. Burial was in the St. Charles cemetery.
