Mrs. A. G. F. Ross died Sunday at Friendship Haven

Funeral services will be held here Wednesday for Mrs. August G. F. Ross, who died Sunday morning at Friendship haven in Fort Dodge. Mrs. Ross had not been in the best of health for some years condition had not been considered critical: Her death was unexpected.

The Ross had made their home at Friendship Haven for several years; Summers they spent largely at the lakes, at the Ross Vacation Village, where they had av fine cottage. They had in past years spent considerable time in Florida

Mrs. Ross (Emma) was, born in Germany, in 1875 and came to the. United, States and to Lyon county when she was 15 years of age. She and August Ross were married on September 14, 1893, at Sioux City, Ia. They lived at Little Rock for many years, where Mr. Ross operated a general store. They moved to Rock Rapids, to retire in 1920, but Mr. Ross assisted his brother, Hugo Ross, who then had. a grocery store here.

In 1939 the Ross sold, their home here and have since lived here only part of the time — other times in, Florida, at the Lakes, or more recently at Friendship Haven.

Survivors include two daughters and a son. The daughters are Mrs. Florence Hamilton, Indianola, and Mrs. Erma Goodman, Escondido, Calif. The son, Hobart Ross now resides at Ft. Lauderdale, Fla Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Taylor Halstad, Sioux City, and Mrs. Lloyd Vittenbender, Kiah, Calif.

There are eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Ross had a great number of friends here. They were active in many things, and generous with all. They were substantial contributors to community projects, to several different churches, and the hospital building campaign.

The services for Mrs. Ross will be held at the Congregational church at 1 p. m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Riverview cemetery. The Rev. Paul Freeman will conduct the service. Mrs. Hugo Ross will sing and will be accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth Wallace. Lockwood-Jongewaard funeral home has charge of arrangements.
