Herman Schmidt

Funeral services for Herman Schmidt, 71, of George were held this morning (Wednesday) at Immanuel Lutheran church there with Rev Stanley Hansen officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Vogelaar-Bolin Funeral Home He died Sunday, April 1, at the Sibley hospital.

Herman Schmidt was born May 14, 1912, in Lyon county He attended country schools in the George area On February 3, 1939, he married Helen Starr at Boyden They farmed until 1973 when they retired to George He was active in the Immanuel Lutheran Church and had served on the George school board.

Survivors include the widow, five daughters, Mrs. David (LaRae) Vasler, Sibley. Mrs. Jerry (Clarice) Hittner, Lincoln, Nebr, Mrs. Fredwin (Faye Jean) Trei, George, Mrs. Dale (Linda Sue) Winkel, Ashton, and Mrs. Junior (Pamela) Klinkenberg, George, 18 grandchildren and two sisters
