Fredonia- Rev. Jesse Walker died Friday evening, Dec. 9, about 9 o'clock, after more than two weeks' illness that confined him to his bed. This section of the county has not lost a citizen so universally loved and respected as Reverend Walker. The best part of his life is interwoven with all the pastoral relations here to a greater degree than any other human, from the very founding of the Methodist congregation and church building at his place. He gave the might of his energies and influence to the evangelizing forces and made it possible in God's name to converting of hundreds at the camp and tabernacle meetings of the few years past in this part of Louisa county. Deceased's services at marriages and funerals was solicited beyond his physical ability, often up to the time of his final passing which was at the age of 77 years and near 6 months. Reverend Knight delivered the funeral discourse Sabbath at 11 a. m. at the M. E. church to an over crowded congregation. Interment at Indian Creek cemetery.
