Death of Mary Parsons. Mary Hale was born in Ohio, Greene county, September 3, 1826. She died at her home two miles south of Toolesboro, Tuesday, October 23, 1906. She came with her father, the late John Hale Sr. and family to Iowa in 1839 settling near Toolesboro and there she passed the remainder of her long life. On August 27, 1847 she was married to Thompson M. Parson, who died May 2, 1902. The living children are: Mrs. Elmira Ervin, of Wapello; Mrs. Mary J. Crisswell, San Diego, California; John H. and ? of Jefferson township, James of Lowell and Harry T., of Oakville. All of these were with their mother during her last sickness. Besides these she leaves a brother, John Hale, Esq., of Wapello. Her funeral occurred on Thursday October 25, 1906 at the home. She was buried in the old Parsons cemetery near by.
