Mrs. Bert Stonebarger died at her home in Lone Tree Tuesday morning, August 7. She had been an invalid for eight months; cancer of the stomach, and her sufferings were very severe. Her maiden name was Ella Vandevert. She was born in Grandview, forty-nine years ago. She was married to Edward Thompson, January 1, 1880. Four children were born to this union, Glen, who died when seven years of age, Merit, who died in 1904 and Roy, who is married and Horold, who live in Lone Tree.

Her first husband died March 16, 1906. April 16, 1904 she was married to A. J. Stonebarger, of Lone Tree. Besides her husband and children she leaves two brothers, Charles, who lives in Burlington, and John, in Nebraska; and four sisters, Mrs. G. W. Riley, of this place, Mrs. Isaiah Gipple, Mrs. William Guthrie and Mrs Henry Smith, all of this county. She also leaves four step-children at her home in Lone Tree. Services were conducted at the home in Lone Tree by Rev. F. W. Adams Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The remains were taken to Grandview for burial Thursday at 2 o'clock p. m.
