Velma Dornon has died. Velma Orlena Delong, only daughter of J. E. and Rilla Delong, was born in Morning Sun, December 25, 1881 and died at her home in Vinton, Iowa, December 12, 1905. She united with the Presbyterian church under the ministry of Rev. J. K. Alexander when she was quite young. Her mother died when she was eight years of age. She made her home with her uncle, J. M. Morrison, for several years, but the last five years before her marriage she lived with her aunt, Mrs. J. A. Swan. She graduated with honors from the schools here, after which she went to Cedar Falls and graduated from the music schools there.

She was united in marriage with A. M. M. Dornon at the home of her brother at Sibley, Iowa, in August 1901. To this union was born one little son, Donald Wallace, aged two years and six months. This little boy with his father and three other children, Mary, Bessie and Robert, her father and mother and two brothers and her aunt with whom she made her home are left to mourn the loss of one whom they held very dear. The remains were brought from Vinton on Thursday. The services were held in the home of Mrs. J. A. Swan, conducted by Revs. Mackay and Trumbull. Interment in Elmwood cemetery.
