Riverside – Henry Griffin of Riverside was called to Des Moines Sunday by the death of his brother Harold Griffin, 69.

Mr. Griffin died Saturday. He had been injured on Monday of last week in a fall from a ladder.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday in Des Moines, with burial in Columbus Junction.

Besides his brother, Harold, he is survived by a son, John; a sister, Edna Griffin, and an aunt, Cora Griffin. All four lived together in Des Moines.

Services Set Services for Harold W. Griffin, 69, of 1300 Forty-first st., will be at 9:30 a. m. Tuesday at the White-Bumgardner-Mack West Grand funeral home. Burial will be in the cemetery at Columbus Junction, where his parents formerly lived.

Mr. Griffin died Saturday at Still College Osteopathic hospital of complications resulting from a spinal fracture and other injuries suffered in a fall from a ladder a week ago. He was picking pears from a tree in a neighbor's yard when the accident occurred.

He was born at Goldfield where he was for many years a lumber and grain dealer. He came to Des Moines 14 years ago.

Mr. Griffin, who was retired, was a member of Cottage Grove Avenue Presbyterian church, the Masonic lodge at Goldfield and the Moose lodge in Des Moines.

Surviving are a son, John R. Griffin of Des Moines; a brother. Henry F. Griffin of Riverside, and a sister, Edna L. Griffin of Des Moines.

Harold Griffin, 69, Former Lone Tree Resident, Dies

Lone Tree – Word has been received here of the death of Harold Griffin, 69, of Des Moines, former resident here.

Mr. Griffin died at Still College Osteopathic hospital of injuries received in a fall.

He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Griffin and had lived at Goldberg [Goldfield] and Des Moines for the past 14 years.

Survivors include a son, John, of Des Moines; a sister, Edna Griffin, Des Moines, and a brother, Henry Griffin of Riverside.

Funeral services were held in Des Moines with burial in the Columbus Junction cemetery.
