Oliver P. Mickey, of near Newport, this county, died very suddenly last Sunday at the home of a son, in Nebraska, who he was visiting at the time. He was eating his dinner, seemingly in the very best of health and spirits, when he fell to the floor. In less than two hours he was dead. His remains were brought home for interment and were laid to rest in the cemetery at Fairview, a mile east of his old home, on Wednesday of this week. Mr. Mickey came here in an early day and has resided on his farm, near Des Moines county line, for nearly or quite forty years. He leaves numerous children, all married, and a wife to mourn his death. His wife is a sister of Mark Davison, of Wapello. Mr. Mickey had been along time member of the Protestant Methodist church. Several of his children live in Nebraska.
