Columbus Gazette, Columbus Junction, Iowa Thursday, November 17, 1892 page 5

Two of Morning Sun's best young men passed away during the past week. There were John Cochran, son of the druggist Cochran and Frank McKinley, son of Stephen McKinley, hardware merchant. John had been an invalid for a year or more and had been away from home many months in the vain search for health, but came home at last to die. Hid death occurred Friday afternoon. Funeral services Sunday. His age was about twenty-three.

Frank died Monday evening at 4 o'clock. The sickness that proved fatal to him was typhoid fever. He was first attacked by it nearly four months before his death. He was thought to be on the high road to recovery several times, but in each case suffered a relapse. He was an exemplary young man of about twenty years. Parents and friends of both have the sympathy of the entire community in which they live.
