Mrs. I. F. Gipple Died Thursday - Grandview

Mrs. I. F. Gipple, aged 87 years and 10 months, died at her home at Grandview at 3:15 a. m. Thursday after a brief illness. Mrs. Gipple had spent the greater part of her life in Louisa county.

Evelyn Vandevort, daughter of Madison and Sarah Vandevort, was born in Cedar county, January 25, 1850, moving to Louisa county in her youth. She was a lifelong member of the Evangelical church and the last surviving member of her fathers family of nine children. Her marriage to I. F. Gipple took place on January 7, 1872, and four sons were born to the couple. Mr. Gipple’s death occurred January 25, 1929. Three sons, Arthur, Everett and Marcellus, her parents, three brothers, John, Clay and Charles and five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Stirling, Mrs. Marietta Guthrie, Mrs. Christiana Sanders, Mrs. Ella Thompson and Miss Rachel Vandevort, also preceded her in death. One son, Herbert and two grandchildren survive. Funeral services were held at the Grandview Community church at 2 pm Saturday with the Rev. Caleb Larson in charge. Burial in the Grandview cemetery.
