Death of C. DeLong

Columbus Delong, an old resident of this city, died at his home, Monday night at 9 o’clock, after a several day’s illness, during which he suffered intensely. The funeral services were held at his late home on Tuesday at 4 p.m. conducted by Revs. D. T. Campbell and C. D. Trumbull.

Mr. DeLong was born in Muskinghum county, Ohio, Nov. 21, 1831, being 65 years of age at his death. He was married in Ohio in 1853 to Lucretia W. Green, who died in this city in August, 1880. He came to Morning Sun in 1863, and soon after engaged in the harness business. He remained identified with the business interests of this city in this and other capacities until death. Mr. Delong was again married at Pittsburg, Pa., in October, 1892, to Mrs. Belle Longwell. The widow, with two sons and one daughter survive him.

Mr. Delong was a live-long Presbyterian, serving as a ruling elder for a number of years past. He was loyal to his church and was a man well liked and respected. He will be greatly missed in the home and in business circles as well.
