Catherine A. Shroyer Scott, 94, of Eldridge, formally of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 3 PM, with a visitation beginning an hour prior, at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Catherine was born on July 8, 1924 to Roy and Anne Donnelly Shroyer in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She attended William Penn College in Oskaloosa. Catherine worked for Collins Credit Union for 22 years and proudly retired in 1986. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Scott on July 8, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Catherine enjoyed playing Bridge, Cribbage, Words with Friends, and painting. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and was a volunteer at Mercy Hospital.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Susan (Steven) Fly of Bettendorf, IA; Carol Ratcliff of Sergeant Bluff, IA; and Lynn (John) Dermody of Cypress, TX; grandchildren, Michelle (Evan) Waters of O’Fallon, MO; Jennifer (Jason) Schroeder of Davenport, IA; Carrie (Rob) Lessard of Overland Park, KS; Gina (Tabor) Smith of Cypress, TX; Nicholas (Angela) Dermody of Corpus Christi, TX; and Jason (Kayla) Dermody of Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Brianna, Madelyn and Ethan Waters of O’Fallon, MO; Colton and Carter Schroder of Davenport, IA; Robert Ross and Archer Lennon Lessard of Overland Park, KS; Ryder, Jace and Jayden Smith of Cypress, TX; and Paislee and John Thomas “JT” of Corpus Christi, TX.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents; and son-in-law, Gary Ratcliff.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA or All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, IA.
