THOMAS PIRNIE DIES; LIVED HERE SINCE 1876
Thomas Pirnie, a resident of Cedar Rapids since 1876, died at 8:45 a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. H.H. Richmond, 642 South Tenth street, following a two weeks' illness of the grip and bronchitis. He was 72 years old. Mr. Pirnie was born in Scotland in 1843 and when a young man he emigrated to the United States. He came to Cedar Rapids and followed the trade of carpenter until a few years ago when advancing age forced his retirement.
Surviving relatives include his four sons, Thomas, John A., Andrew and George B., all of Cedar Rapids, and two daughters, Mrs. H.H. Richmond, Cedar Rapids, and Mrs. John Stroud, Gann Valley, South Dakota. Mrs. Pirnie preceded her husband in death six years ago. Two daughters also died some years ago.
No definite arrangements have been made for the funeral but it probably will be held Friday at the home of Mrs. Richmond at an hour to be announced later.
