John Wiegold died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ira Grassfield, Saturday evening at 7:30 after an illness of only four days. The cause was heart trouble with a complication of other diseases. The deceased was 67 years of age and was born in Wittenburg, Germany. He came to this country when five years old and after a short residence in New York, Pennsylvania and Illinois settled near Lafayette in this county where he resided until the death of his parents in 1888 since which time he has made his home with his sister, Mrs. Ira Grassfield. He never was married consequently was not a man of a family. He is survived by two sisters and four brothers, namely: Mrs. Ira Grassfield and Mrs. Jacob Nagele both of Marion, Fred Wiegold of Garrison, William Wiegold of Glendale, Arizona, Simon and Jacob Wiegold both of Marion. Funeral services were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Grassfield at two o'clock Monday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. James Aiken Smith, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Interment was in Oakshade cemetery.
