Roger A. Loehr, 59, of Monmouth, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at his home in rural Monmouth, Iowa.

Friends and family may gather in remembrance of Roger on Friday, August 31, 2018, from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Roger Allen Loehr was born on May 31, 1959 in Anamosa, Iowa, to Allen Paul and Dorothy Mae (Mysak) Loehr. He grew up in Lisbon and attended Lisbon schools. He never married but had a long-term relationship of 29 years with Jolene Williams of Monmouth, Iowa.

Roger had worked as a semi-truck driver, construction worker and as a self-employed contractor doing odd jobs.

Roger's passions were canoeing, camping and sitting around bonfires visiting with friends and family. He also enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, being outdoors in nature and listening to "his" music.

Those left to honor his memory include his girlfriend of 29 years Jolene Williams of Monmouth, IA; a daughter, Amanda (Ron) Zvacek of Kalona, IA; step-daughters, Shanna Kelsey and Kindra Scott; a grandchild, Stefani; 4 step-grandchildren; his mother Dorothy Loehr of Lisbon, IA; brothers, Dan Loehr of Lisbon, IA, John (Nanita) Loehr of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ed (Leanne) Loehr of Cedar Rapids, IA; and sisters, Debra (Thom) Applebee of Cedar Rapids, IA, Judy (Fernando) Pavia of Waterloo, IA, and Julie (Ray) Osten of Cedar Rapids, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, and brothers Jeffrey, Ronald and Theodore.
