OBITUARY OF LEVI NAYLOR.
Levi Naylor was born near Carlisle, Pa., Nov. 6, 1840, and died in Alburnett, Jan. 3, 1915, aged 74 years, 1 month and 27 days.
He with his parents came to Buchanan county sixty years ago, and a few years later came to this place, where he spent the rest of his life.
He was joined in matrimony with Sarah Emmaline Taylor, also a native of Pennsylvania. To this union were born four sons and seven daughteres; she and four of the children having preceded him in death.
The children born to them are as follows: Sarah Craft of Cedar Rapids, Katherine Berry of this place, John, who died in infancy, Charles C. of this place, Granville W. of Amisted, New Mexico, Mattie Weisingel of this place, Lillian May Kinkead of Jordan's Grove, Ernestina White, deceased, Lydia Reep deceased, Levi deceased and Emily Roth who resides at West Liberty.
There are also twenty-four grandchildren, and ten great grand children, several of these also having died. He was a good citizen, honest and sympathetic and interested in the welfare of the community. He formerly had been a member of the Christian church. He has been ailing for several months, but for sometime was supposed to be improving; but his end came unexpected from a hemorrhage of the lungs.
