Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon for Roy H. Cone
Roy Harrison Cone, a life-long resident of Marion, died quite suddenly Friday morning about ten o'clock at his room, 958 Seventh avenue. He was a well known painter an[d] paperhanger, and had been complaining of not feeling well for several days, but went to work that morning doing some interior decorating at the Masonic temple, but later asked to be taken to his room, and was found dead there that afternoon.
He was the son of John S. and Ida Herring Cone of Marion, born September 6, 1892, and had worked at his trade in and about Marion ever since his youth. He was a member of Painters Union, No. 447, A.F. of L., and of the Methodist church. He is survived by two brothers, Ray G. Cone, of Cedar Rapids, and Earl Cone of Marion.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock from the Yocom chapel, with the service in charge of the Rev. Frank Ward, of the Sunshine Mission, Cedar Rapids. Burial was made in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery.
