Mrs. Lydia Foreman Died Late Friday After Long Illness
After an illness of nearly two years Mrs. Lydia Melvina Foreman died at the family home on East Fifth avenue, Friday evening at six o'clock.
She was born in Mount Vernon May 1, 1858, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred E. Woodcox, and in 1887 was married to Henry Baker, who preceded her in death. On April 14, 1920, she was married to Arthur Foreman of this city. Besides Mr. Foreman she leaves six children, George W. Baker, Mrs. Emma Johnson, and Thomas Baker of Cedar Rapids; Fred Baker of Oregon, Joseph Baker of Toddville, and Earl Baker of Marion. There are also four sisters, Mrs. Rose Hellers and Mrs. Nanie of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Will Geiger of Cherokee and Mrs. John Garrett of near Manly.
Mrs. Foreman joined the Methodist church in her early youth and held her membership in the local church at the time of her death. She also was a member of Grove City Rebekah lodge.
A largely attended funeral service was held Sunday afternoon from the Yocom chapel, Rev. E.T. Gough officiating. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
